Users can access a variety of apps published to the portal and engage with them to automate workflows without needing technical expertise.

How to Publish Bot to Service Portal

To make your developed bot available for users in the Service Portal, follow these steps:

  • Once the bot is developed, go to the Bot Listing Page.
  • Find the bot you want to publish and click on the three dots under the Bot Actions.
  • From the dropdown menu, select Publish to Service Portal.

This will make the bot accessible in the portal for users to interact with.

How to Use Service Portal

The Service Portal allows users to access, interact with, and track the progress of their requested automation tasks. It provides a seamless experience for both users and approvers.

Steps to Use Service Portal

  • Access the Portal
    Open your web browser and navigate to the Service Portal.

  • Landing on the 'Apps' Page
    Upon logging in, you'll land on the Apps page, where a list of available apps (bots) will be displayed.

  • Select an App to Use

    1. To use an app, click on the app name or the Open button from the actions dropdown.
    2. This will open the app's interface, and you can begin interacting with it.
  • Fill Out the Form and Submit

    1. Once the app is launched, a form will appear asking for necessary details (e.g., repository name, description).
    2. Fill in the form fields and click next to send your request.

  • Request Approval and Execution

    1. After submission, the bot will await approval from the designated approver.
    2. Once approved, the bot will execute all the pre-configured nodes in the workflow automatically.
    3. If all nodes are completed successfully, the status of the request will change from In-Progress to Succeeded.
  • View Request History

    1. From the History page, you can view the history of all requests made for the apps.
    2. Here, you can track the progress of past and ongoing requests, and see detailed logs or statuses.
